This London-based couple in their late twenties wanted to incorporate aspects of a traditional Jewish wedding with modern pop music in a beautiful historic English venue. After careful consideration, SALUT were chosen to bring together this melting pot of cultures, styles and music.
The Old Palace at Hatfield House is a stunning wedding venue with a rich history to match. A former banqueting hall, it is one of the foremost examples of medieval brickwork in the UK with original roof timbers and wall hangings. Famous previous tenants include Henry VIII as well as Queen Elizabeth I who chose to host her first council of state in the hall. The adjoining gardens and extensive land make the perfect setting for a fairytale wedding.
21st century Jewish weddings in the UK tend to follow a familiar format with the evening reception kicked-off by Israeli dancing. SALUT have played at a number of Jewish events and have created their own unique 20-minute Israeli dancing medley. This includes classics like Moshiach, Simun Tov Mazeltov & Hava Nagila performed in the original style but with a modern SALUT twist. SALUT are extremely well-versed in Jewish events and often get recommended as the band of choice by Jewish wedding professionals. Videos of SALUT’s “Hora” set are available upon request.
