Have you ever imagined getting married in a cave accompanied by the worlds funkiest wedding band? You’ve just imagined Debbie & Humberto’s wedding in Edinburgh. Now SALUT have been known to play in some mysterious and quirky venues, from the bottom of the ocean to the top of the gherkin, however this wedding in the Caves might just top it.
The Caves is a truly unique venue that makes up the sub-structure of the 18th Century South Bridge. There is no venue more Edinburgh than the Caves, or more Scottish, if you consider there was once so much Whisky stored here that it became known as “Whisky Row”. The space is simply beautiful from the original brickwork to the secret loft bar which makes the perfect after-hours hangout. SALUT opened the show with the couple’s first dance choice, “Baby I love your way!” An unusual but great selection which had everyone on the floor with them… This couple clearly just wanted to party! This is a common theme with SALUT wedding couples, who increasingly skip over their first dance as quickly as possible to get on with the hardcore dancing! After SALUT’s performance which finished at 2am, the beautiful wedding couple convinced the whole band to join them in carrying on the party long into the night. Sometimes, you just can’t say no… 6am, and finally we arrived back at our hotel. What a night… SALUT always do love a Scottish wedding!
